CLEAN ENERGY
In January 2008, Prisma de Honduras signed a participation agreement with Proyecto de Infraestructura Rural (PIR), Programa de Electrificación Rural con Energía Solar (PROSOL), under the World Bank program, as an intermediary Micro Financing Institution of resources for financing of purchase of photovoltaic systems for domestic and community use, (schools and churches), serving the communities located in the departments of Choluteca and El Paraíso. In this program, the BM / PROSOL establishes an alliance between the MFIs and the suppliers of equipment and services with the objective of providing the beneficiaries with quality and guaranteed services.
This credit product has been designed with the objective of offering a viable alternative that allows covering the basic needs of electrification aimed at small families, schools and churches located in the rural sector.
To strengthen the program, in June 2010 an agreement was signed with the Pan-American Agricultural School, El Zamorano, to support the development of the communities in the Yeguare Valley, El Paraíso.
The project seeks to improve the physical living conditions of the beneficiaries and support the development of local markets with the use of renewable energy, with the additional advantage that the El Zamorano school trained technicians in the installation and maintenance of solar systems, who offer local technical services and sale of accessories to the beneficiaries of the program.
